adidas presents the new adizero sub2 marathon running shoe to provide athletes with long distance running.
The adidas adizero Sub2 Marathon Shoe is the first step in the three stripes’ ambitious Sub2 program and will be officially unveiled during this Sunday’s Tokyo Marathon by the one and only Wilson Kipsang, a Kenyan long-distance runner and world record holder who looks to regain the world record for fastest marathon time.
Adidas has been working on the shoe for the past two years after the concept came to mind after the 2012 London Marathon, which was won by Kipsang in 2:04:44.
The adizero Sub2 marks the debut of adidas’s new BOOST Light innovation, the brand’s lightest-ever foam, retaining industry-leading energy return that has powered adidas athletes to world records. The upper is then comprised of one single layer of ultralight fabric, featuring a weight-reduced mesh with internal reinforcements and advanced Microfit, which has been developed to create the best support, comfort and fit for high-speed road racing. Maximum grip is in turn achieved thanks to the implementation of a Continental Microweb outsole.
The Sub2 Marathon Running Shoe is currently available in only ‘Energy Blue’ colorway, and is set to release at retail later this year.
